Title: Guvva Gorinka

Cast: Satyadev, Priyaa Lal, Priyadarshi, Rahul Ramakrishna
Director: Mohan Bammidi
Streaming on: Amazon Prime
Story: Sadanand (Satyadev) and Sireesha (Priyaa Lal) stay in neighboring flats. They are audible to each other through the walls and they unexpectedly end up talking to each other and develop a bonding. They decide to maintain this bonding without meeting each other until they trust each other completely. What happened next and was their love successful or not forms the story.
Performances: Satyadev is neat. Priyaa Lal is strictly okay. Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna couldn’t evoke laughter. Fish Venkat as Satydev’s father is a surprise.
Technicalities: Camerawork and music are good. Editing is okay. But none of these add any extra value to the film which needed help in it’s writing.
Analysis: After a very long delay, this film has been released directly on OTT. The basic line of the film itself is silly. Two people talking across a wall is not convincing at all. It is not at all clear how even the smallest of sounds are audible across the wall. This illogical point completely ruins the rest of the film since the major part of the story revolves around this point. Poor comedy track, mediocre acting from female lead and predictable climax add to the mess. Despite a 2 hour long runtime, the movie feels terribly long and tiring. The way the bonding develops between the lead pair is not at all convincing and lacks any depth. Barring Satyadev’s neat performance, there is absolutely nothing worthwhile in this film.
On a whole: Guvva Gorinka is an outdated love story and offers nothing novel or convincing.
